New Surveys Show Importance of Traditional Annual Report

Recent surveys of shareholders and investment professionals indicate that the traditional printed annual report continues to have a great influence on investment decisions. Institutional investors prefer a comprehensive report to a 10-K wrap by 57 percent to 19 percent, with two out of three such investors viewing the annual report as an “owner’s manual.” Another study suggests that the market pays a premium for companies that provide more information in their annual reports than is required by regulation.
